In this classical hatha yoga class we are exploring different themes through a slow flowing sequence including postures for core awakening.
Each session last for 1hour and 15 min and contains breathing practices
(pranayama), relaxation and elements of mindfulness meditation practices.
In this class, the yang comes before the yin as we begin with flowing sequences such as sun salutations for strength, stability and stamina. When we work actively, the pranic flow and circulation are directed into the muscles and superficial connective tissues.
In the second half of the class we move into long-held, passive yin poses, allowing the energy to reach the deeper connective tissues and the joints, increasing the supply of fluids to them, making them less dense and enabling them to stretch appropriately.
Yin Yoga challenges us to stay in pure awareness as it marries meditation and asana into a deep and satisfying practice.
The Taoist concept of yin and yang, the two opposite and complementary principles in nature are combined into a balanced and integrated practice.
all students, including advanced beginners who wish deepen their yoga practice to the next level and learn new postures and sequences; Each week we’ll be focusing on a different peak posture, and exploring correct alignment, modifications and variations of the pose. Plus a restorative posture & deep relaxation.
Yin Yoga - a contemplative, mat based practice. We use breath and gravity to drop into our shape and ourselves, Gently tugging at connective tissues, fascia, muscles and targeting specific meridians to connect with our inner and outer worlds. A practice open to all abilities, modifications always available.
